Weekly Notes from the Principal's Desk. . .
January 18, 2005
- Jan. 30 - Feb. 5 is Catholic Schools Week. During that week we celebrate Catholic Education and particularly Saint Ann School. The week will begin with a paraliturgy on Monday, Jan. 31, at 8:00 AM. We hope you will join us. It will be preceded by a Principal's Tea for parents at 7:30 AM. The week will be full of activities for the students, and as we did last year, we will hold our Open House on Thursday, February 3. Please encourage friends and acquaintances to come to the Open House and see what Saint Ann School has to offer.
- Please make plans to attend the Saint Ann School Car Raffle Fundraiser on Saturday, Feb. 5. The purchase of one raffle ticket at $200.00 gives ticket holders a chance to win $13,000 or a new car of that value. Numerous other prizes are also awarded that evening to lucky winners. Each raffle ticket includes two dinner tickets. Additional dinner tickets may be purchased for $15.00. If you are not able to purchase a ticket, we invite you to find a few other families who may be willing to share the cost of a ticket. Help with ticket sales, set-up and other tasks is needed. Please contact Kart Ettling if you are able to help.
- The first semester ended last Friday, Jan. 14. Report cards will be in next week's Monday Envelope. Please make an appointment with your child's teacher if you have any questions about the report card.
- Congratulations to our 2nd Graders who made their First Reconciliation last week. It's a joy to be around such holy people!

- Good luck to our Spelling Bee contestants, Austin Blubaugh and Sean Walkling (alternate), who are travelling to Bakersfield today to compete in the regional spelling bee.
- The Holiday Bazaar earned approximately $6,500 for the school! Thanks again to all who worked to make this event such a highly anticipated Ridgecrest event.
- Students in Grades 5 and 8 will participate in the ACRE testing during the next two weeks. This test evaluates the students' understanding of their faith and the teachings of the Catholic Church.
